Congrats on the new business, exciting times! The thing that makes you great is that you are extremely approachable and make a complicated task of buying a house (particularly for first home buyers) easy to understand. You take the time to step people through the process.
Jessica Torpey – Aurizon
Your services take the hard work out of initially sourcing the most competitive and appropriate finance deals. Then your ongoing support, guidance and strategic financial advice helps me to make my money work harder for me (ie puts more money in my pocket).I get comfort knowing I have an experienced broker/financial advisor working along side me. I could not have made the financial transactions I have made to date without you. You are the right man for the job when somebody like me needs someone they can trust. I am very time poor, so I like the fact that you don’t need too much of my time to make great things happen. You offer a very personal service. What you say, is what you do. I like that you make yourself available day and night to assist. You are very proactive. Your fees are modest for the service that you offer. I don’t ever feel like I’m ‘on the clock’ when I’m with you. You always provide ‘value’. We don’t ever meet up or have a conversation where I don’t walk away with solid outcomes.

I/we have been using Peter for all our business and personal finances for the last 2 years. By utilising Lamb Financial it has not only freed up my time by not having to chase banks for the best deals and attending meeting after meeting, but I have also found that Peter has the skills and knowledge to negotiate and successfully implement better deals and rates than I have been able to previously. Whilst these points are important, Peter also understands my business and personal goals and keeps in touch with our Accountant and us, to ensure the best end result. Since being introduced to Peter, there is no way I would try to take on the task of dealing with banks directly and highly recommend his services to anyone looking for an improved way of reaching their financial goals.
Brett Hill – Treated Pine Distributors, Caloundra
Peter has been assisting me with my personal, my business and with my clients for over 20 years in developing and implementing finance and banking strategies. His no nonsense commercial approach to banking is a breath of fresh air at a time when loyalty from the banks to its clients is a distant memory. Peter is not just a banker, he is my trusted advisor and link to the banking sector.

There are several strong reasons why I do. Up the top; and I’m not sure which is first, as the top few go together. First, you understand your clients’ wants and needs. You seem to be able to grasp what the end game is more quickly than ‘ordinary bankers’. There is no ‘banker speak’ in your vocabulary. You say it as it is. This is what I personally respect and admire; within a short conversation we both know roughly where we are. This gives me, as a businessman, a clearer path as to what direction. Do I pursue this path, or should I change tack and look at another way of doing or approaching the project. I really appreciate the extra work that I know you do. I go to you with what I need to achieve. You come back to me with how it can be achieved. You do all the extra work (I’m talking here about all the associated paperwork that flourishes these days within our banking system). As a businessman this is the last thing that I want to do. I want the result, not the Magna Carta rewritten. That is why I follow you Pete! So it’s not your good looks after all. Good luck in your new venture and please feel free to use me as a referee. I would be happy to speak with anyone if you would like.

Dealing with today’s banks can be a daunting experience. Whether you are looking to establish a new business, buying an existing business, expanding your operation, purchasing an asset for the business, re-financing, down-sizing, investing or buying your first home, there is always so much to consider when securing finance. That’s why it is vital to use an expert who understands the market and can find you the most suitable loan, and more importantly, the right structure and best financial institution to suit your needs.
Our aim is to find you a loan that not only meets your requirements, but delivers an outstanding rate, product and service proposition. We believe in providing our customers with choice and opportunity and at Lamb Financial Services, we look forward to supporting you to achieve your financial goals whatever they may be.
We are a team of trusted finance professionals with over 30 years’ experience in lending. That experience allows us to match your individual circumstance with the most appropriate financial institution, product, structure and service.
In short, we take the worry out of finance and make “bank-speak” easy to understand.
A home buyer, or home owner can obtain a loan to either purchase a new property or use some of the equity in an existing property from a financial institution via a mortgage broker (that’s what we do!).
Features of mortgage loans such as the size of the loan, the term of the loan, interest rate, how you want to pay it off and other characteristics can vary considerably. It’s always best to speak with us, your mortgage broking professionals, to determine the loan that is right for you.
Investment loans are structured in a specific way that allows you to get the most benefit from your assets. A good investment plan is one that works toward building your wealth and securing your financial freedom. For some, the future may seem a long way off, but the time to act is now, because the future waits for no one. The housing market is generally a seven to ten year cycle: there are always highs, lows and steady patches.
The variable rate loan offers more features and flexibility than the basic or “no frills” loan, so the rate is usually slightly higher. Fixed rate loans are set at a fixed rate for a specified period – usually one to five years. The advantage of allowing you to organise your finances and repayments without the risk of rising interest rates is offset by the disadvantage of not benefiting from a drop in rates.
A bridging loan may be necessary to cover the financial gap when buying one property before the existing one is sold. This finance is generally secured against your property as you are utilising the equity in your existing property. Usually, bridging loans are short term and more expensive than other types of loans.

Finance brokers are professionals in the financial services industry. We work with you and your key stakeholders to determine your financial needs and how those needs are best met by one of the many finance providers in the market today.
Professional finance brokers focus on financial services. If you have a toothache, you go to the dentist not a florist. If your car is broken you take it to a mechanic not a librarian. You go to someone trained to help you with your specific need. It’s the same when you need a financial services product.
Brokers have access to a wide variety of financial institutions. This means your broker can find a product and structure that’s just right for you.
Some finance brokers charge a fee and some don’t. At Lamb Financial Services, we charge an upfront engagement fee that is refunded to you when the negotiated lending facilities have been drawn down by the chosen financial institution.
That is an absolute myth and not true at all. Brokers get paid commission by the bank for bringing new business to them and this does not impact your rate or level of service. Some brokers charge a fee for their service. They must disclose this fee upfront to you so you know what you will be up for if you engage their services. However, the costs of the loan are the same, depending on the loan you choose.
Absolutely not! There is legislation in our industry, called the National Consumer Credit Protection Act (or NCCP). It is designed to protect consumers and ensure ethical and professional standards in the finance industry. We tell you upfront what commission we will be getting from the bank. Our job, our only job, is to find the best loan for your needs and serviceability.
The answer to this question is not clear cut as there are a number of factors to be considered when determining your borrowing capacity. Give us a call and we can go into your options in more detail, or check out the loan calculator page of our site to get an idea of what your monthly loan repayment may be!
We are only allowed to recommend a product based on what you say is most important to you – for example, “pay my loan off quickly” or “guaranteed repayments”. We cannot determine which loan is right for you without a full understanding of your financial circumstances.
I am a Connective Broker. This means that I have access to a wide variety of lenders – these include the major banks, second tier lenders and credit unions. We can source you a loan from the lender of your choice or we can use our experience and knowledge of your business to best match your needs with the most appropriate lender.
The Reserve Bank of Australia meet on the first Tuesday every month to determine the official cash rate for the country. The lenders then use this information to set their own rates. Mortgage brokers do not set rates.
We work hard to make sure that you understand what is going on in the financial industry.
Our communication initiative ensures that you are kept up to date through useful and informative communication pieces. We will also let you know the outcome of the monthly Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) meeting, and what this means for your financial situation.
